About MSAIMAHISTORY The Medical Society of Acupuncture of the Israeli Medical Association (MSAIMA) was founded in March 1994 following the decision of the Scientific Committee of the Israeli Medical Association from December 12, 1993. MSAIMA is the oldest Acupuncture Society in Israel. MSAIMA grew up from the previous Israeli Acupuncture Organization founded in 1984 - The Israeli Society of Auricular Medicine (ISAM), which was renamed later to The Israeli Society of Auricular Medicine and Acupuncture (ISAMA). During the period of 1984 – 1994 ISAM - ISAMA organized and held the following events:
In 1990 The Israeli Society of Auricular Medicine and Acupuncture (ISAMA) became a member of the International Council of Medical Acupuncture and Related Techniques (ICMART). From 1990 to 1994 ISAMA published a professional journal - Journal of Auricular Medicine and Acupuncture. MSAIMA organized and held the following events:
Members of MSAIMA are physicians (MDs), dentists (DMDs), veterinarians (DVMs), scientists (PhDs) medical professionals who do not possess the medical license from the Israeli Ministry of Health, biologists and graduates of complementary medicine colleges. MSAIMA is a member of the International Council of Medical Acupuncture and Related Techniques (ICMART) and the only organization that is officially recognized by the Israeli Medical Association (IMA).
